Virgin America and Banana Republic teamed up to give travelers a fun surprise at the SFO airport last week. Imagine going to baggage claim to pick up your luggage and seeing a line of presents moving along on the conveyor belt! This is exactly what passengers of Virgin America’s flight 837 from Chicago to San Francisco experienced.

Virgin America and Banana Republic decided to spread some Christmas cheer on Dec. 16 by placing carefully wrapped gift packages containing Banana Republic merchandise on an SFO baggage claim conveyor belt. Each package came with a message card that said, "Surprise! This gift is for you… doesn’t matter if you’ve been naughty or nice from Banana Republic and Virgin."

For tired travelers and passengers who may not get to see their loved ones this holiday season, a surprise like this definitely creates positive brand association. After all, who doesn't like receiving gifts?
