As Japan becomes more dense, getting around the city becomes more of a challenge—but with a new travel pod concept called Kosoku, the Japan Rail Co. is set to give passengers more breathing room. The luxury Kosoku pods are designed for solo travel, rocketing people feet-first towards their destination. Some of the perks of using this mode of transport include air conditioning, reclining seats that also massage, integrated docks for mobile deivces, cup holders and Wi-Fi access.
It's hard to say whether this is an April Fool's Day prank from the Japan Rail Co. or the future of transportation, but there are promises that this pod is being tested on Tokyo train lines and that an official website for the new mode of transportation will launch this summer.
