This work is called Transfiguration and it is the result of a collaborative effort between American photographer named Richard Bram and German painter Silvia Willkens.
Transfiguration mixes modern-day photography with the early Renaissance portraiture of such masters as Giotto and della Francesca. "The resulting photographs, made over several years," says Lens Culture, "move forward and back through time and through the picture plane, between real and imagined personae."
