Getting a proper night's sleep is essential to productivity and overall health but can seem out of reach for many time-poor consumers, so the conceptual 'Time Machine Table Lamp' has been designed with this in mind.
The illuminator draws design inspiration from an hourglass, and works by being flipped to activate the light inside and begin the 60 minute countdown. This could work as a visual indicator for those who have trouble getting to bed at the proper time to let them simply activate the timer and know exactly how much time they have left before they should settle in for the night.
The conceptual 'Time Machine Table Lamp' is the design work of Chu Dongdong, Liu Bei, Ren Peng, Lin Rulong and Weng Hang, and is the winner of the 2020 K-Design Award.
