The Kata Lounge Chair is Designed by Studio Altherr Désile Park

The Kata lounge chair is designed by the Barcelona-based studio dubbed Altherr Désile Park. The chair's design takes inspiration from traditional woven straw chairs to draw an intersection between modernity and history. Sleek and simplistic in form and shape, the Kata lounge chair is made from solid wood, unlike its straw predecessors.
Designed as a modern armchair, Kata is made from a combination of oak and black locust wood. Moreover, it features an upholstered back and a plush upholstered seat. These elements are stitched together to form a single unit to fit into the chair's structure easily. Available in various colors and striped 3D knitted finishes, the cushion's fabric is made from post-consumer plastic waste that is then recycled and woven into yarn.
