Designed by Aram Pundak and Rabea Gebler, the Boaz Stool stands with the use of tension. A CNC machine carves the wooden stool. It uses wires to connect the legs and the locking mechanism rather than traditional stool beams. The student duo decided to challenge their design by using unconventional methods of holding the piece together.
The connection between the bayonet system and the seat creates tension that locks the stool in place. While it may appear light, the weight of the sitter enhances the stool's stability. Aside from its functionality, the Boaz Stool boasts a sleek appearance. The seat is carved from light-colored wood and has a natural finish and contrasting red wires, ideal for modern spaces.
