The Author House is Located on the Outskirts of Aarhus, Denmark
Elena Rahman — July 22, 2021 — Art & Design
Designed by architecture and landscape office Sleth, the Author House is located in a lakeside forest on the outskirts of Aarhus, Denmark. Clad in copper, the writer's cabin is designed to function as a full-time workspace for one of Sleth's clients.
The building takes advantage of its natural setting through the use of large sliding glass doors. By framing the views in all directions, the living space is extended to the outdoors, creating a sense of harmony with the forest's wildlife. One of Sleth's founding partners explains: "The area is so lush and beautiful that we wanted to really capture the essence of it." Built over a pre-existing foundation, the Author House features an open-plan ground floor, a loft, a kitchenette, and a bathroom.
