The Texas Department of Information Resources has officially launched Texas by Texas (TxT), a new consolidated digital identity platform aimed at helping residents easily access state services online.
Texas by Texas (TxT) is a new initiative developed to streamline citizen access to government, drastically altering "how Texans interact with their government." While the new platform will offer a wide range of tools and services, functioning as a digital hub for residents of the state, its most notable feature is its adoption of a single digital identity (SDI) format. The new SDI format allows the government to verify its citizens' identities via one single solution, which enables it to streamline all its processes while offering residents a more efficient and personalized experience.
To roll out the new SDI format, the Texas DIR, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Texas Department of Public Safety were all required to team up with financial firm Deloitte, which helped develop the technology.
