For both professional writers and aspiring writers, sometimes the space around you can have a profound effect on what you produce, and now the company Jet Prefab has designed a prefab home, called the Tess House, that was created with writers in mind.
Inspired by a writer (one of Jet Prefab's customers) who has been dreaming about building a writer's house on Shelter Island, the 1,645-square-foot Tess House was designed to enhance writer inspiration. It features an open floor plan with three bedrooms and two decks, a design that maximizes calm and stimulates creativity. There is also a removed and isolated bedroom that is connected to the main house via a narrow hallway, or "breezeway," as Jetson Green describes. The house also has an office next to the master bedroom, allowing you to capture those "light bulb moments" in the middle of the night, says the designers.
