Artist Emma Fay Creates the Illusion of a Giant Tarantula on Woman's Body
Meghan Young — July 14, 2014 — Unique
For a truly radical Halloween costume idea, a person could try to replicate this terrifying body art. Although it looks like a real albeit giant tarantula, it is in fact a skillfully painted body. The model, who must be a veteran yogi or body contortionist, poses in a unique bridge position in order to bring the terrifying body art to life.
Created by Emma Fay, a body painting artist based in the United Kingdom, the terrifying body art is not something many people will be able to stomach, especially those afraid of spiders. Lowri Thomas, the model, spent 5 hours undergoing this visually striking makeup transformation. She was shot by photographer Jonathan Macauley. Emma Fay has also created equally impressive but more tame animal-inspired body including tall giraffes and sea horses.
