Ted Harrison has created a moving tribute to child soldiers using tons of remembrance poppy petals. The artist constructed his moving piece in St. Paul's cathedral in London. The portrait features the images of three child soldiers, two from WWII and one from more modern conflicts.
From ground level, the poppy petals seem to be nothing more than scattered flowers. It is only from the Whispering Gallery, the floor right below the cathedral's dome, that the image of the child soldiers can be seen. The piece was designed to raise awareness for the 250,000 child soldiers fighting in various conflicts worldwide. Here's hoping that the installation manages to make a difference, no matter how small.
