Bamboo forests are an enchanting aspect of the natural environment throughout Asia, and Sybarite, a London design studio, took those woodlands as inspiration for the interior of 'Yen', a high-end soba restaurant on the River Thames. The new restaurant is the second franchise, with the first being located in Paris.
It doesn't take much hunting to see the inspiration behind Yen. Sybarite used various colors of wood as the core material, with thin beams stretching out from the walls and down from the ceiling throughout the whole restaurant. When viewed from a distance, the ultimate effect is one of limbs crisscrossing one another in much the same way as arcing, fully grown bamboo stalks. Further, the studio covered several wall portions with a richly colored camouflage pattern that mimics the palette of dense forests in autumn.
