Located atop the rocky terrain of a national park, this Swedish summer home by Mats Fahlander features a barrel-vaulted roof and stilts. The stilt format allows the home to be raised off the rocky ground, while the roof is supported by a timber framework. The home also features a wooden balcony to better appreciate the seaside view.
Inside the home, an open-concept kitchen and living area offers views of the Fjord. The space also opens out to a nestled patio area, accessed by a set of sliding glass doors. The interior, which features walls lined with exposed fir, is purposefully sparse and minimal, in an effort to maintain a connection with nature.
The home, which is surrounded by older residences, is part of a family-owned seasonal retreat complex.
