Famed fitness influencer and the trainer behind the SWEAT app, Kayla Itsines, has joined forces with the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund to raise money for COVID-19 relief efforts.
To encourage donations, the app prompts users to consider giving an $8 donation to the fund, and highlights how donations help to protect healthcare workers, raise money for vaccine research, and aid in the distribution of supplies. In addition to encouraging donations through the app, SWEAT has committed $1,000,000 USD to the cause.
SWEAT CEO Tobi Pearce spoke to the initiative, stating, "We feel that there's been no better time to give back, than right now. Our purpose at SWEAT is to empower women through fitness, but our company was founded on the principle of helping others in any way we can. We're in a unique position now to open our doors to anyone in the world affected by the novel coronavirus outbreak, give them a flexible way to stay healthy at home, and support the cause at the same time."
