Working in Bangalore, India but based in Lee's Summit, , Sucre Bleu is running a fundraising campaign via WePay in order to be able to run their pilot project that will target 50,000 people. The strategy for raising the money is aimed at small contributions from a large number of people, that is, the goal is $5 from 20,000 people. According to the non-profit organization, $5 covers one patient's ability to be screened and have a follow up for diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. What is more, it also covers training and paying women health care workers in the region.
The organization was founded by Erin Little who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a child.
