The Stool 60 is celebrating its 80th anniversary. A momentous occasion, it was only appropriate that the manufacturer, Artek, behind the seat re-released it. Of course, there have been some contemporary tweaks, namely in the form of color. Using the palette of the Aalto’s architectural designs at the time it was first created, the Stool 60 boasts tops in hues such as bright yellows (floors), deep greens (walls) and muted turquoise (handrails and walls).
Designed by Aalto, the Stool 60 will also receive a makeover from select architects and designers for a special edition run. These will include playfully painted bases in addition to the tops. Simple and stackable thanks to its three-legged form, the Stool 60 will suit just about any home, both traditional and modern.
