The concept of a startup accelerator might seem cool and the sort of thing you'd find in an up and coming hipster neighborhood, but this one takes the form of a bus tour. Currently seeking finances on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo, the AMPION Venture Bus consists of four different tours that go through 16 African countries in an effort to come up with new business ideas.
Founded by Fabian-Carlos Guhl, the Venture Bus hopes to create change utilizing technology in Africa. From a German non-profit, this startup accelerator is a "pressure cooker for ideas." Since its inception, several successful startups have been produced including Sterio.me. Dedicated to empowering African entrepreneurs, the project helps locals become change-makers. On the 5 day bus tour there are startup competitions allowing African and international innovators to collaborate.
