Starbucks Korea introduces a new location located in Daegu, South Korea and it is meant to channel the city's heritage and rich culture. The coffee shop is inspired by a traditional hanok, which is a historical Korean house that dates as far back as the 14th century. It actually takes over a real hanok that is about a century old, preserving true elements of the building. It retains the natural materials including the exposed wood that functions as the main framework of the structure. Other features include the original tiled roof, the floors, columns, and beams of the original design. Notably, it also has an outdoor garden that is filled with old wells and trees.
