These whimsical squirrel photographs were captured by Geert Weggen in his backyard. Weggen sets up simple props and waits for the squirrels to come and go and interact with whatever trinkets he has left for them to play with. In some of his work, Weggen has utilized things like umbrellas, pumpkins and scissors as props for his unique photo series.
Weggen only uses Photoshop to eliminate wires that he used to hold things up, as well as food used to lure in his furry friends. Weggen acknowledged that he gets bored easily when faced with a very repetitive task. When taking these squirrel photographs however, Weggen has yet to get tired of it and has found new ways to capture them through new props, or simply documenting their backyard explorations.
