The Spout Coffee Company is Made Up of Two Shipping Containers
Katherine Pendrill — May 30, 2017 — Art & Design
Last year, the Spout Coffee Company cafe became the first retail space in all of Pretoria, South Africa, to be made from recycled shipping containers. As a result, the eye-catching new cafe has quickly become a hit among those looking for a unique space to grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.
Spout Coffee Company is a hip cafe located on an unused lot in Pretoria’s Hazelwood neighborhood. The cafe is made up of two repurposed shipping containers stacked on top of one another to create a two-story space. Downstairs there is a walk-up coffee bar and kitchen, while the upstairs area features extra seating and a five-kilogram small batch roaster. There is also an open-air patio out front for customers to relax and enjoy the cafe's gourmet coffee and baked goods.
