Facebook has recently stated that it will open its beta program of Spark AR onto Instagram. The beta program was previously closed, however now any developers can create and place their AR filter onto the social media platform. The Spark AR beta was initially announced at the Facebook F8 keynote presentation.
Filters that were created for the Spark AR platform can be accessed in a number of different ways. Users can access AR effects from people that they follow, AR effects could also be placed into the camera effects tray in the Instagram app. Instagram will also have an Effect Gallery, where users can search through many different AR filters by different users. Instagram stories will also state which, if any, AR effect was used.
