Each canvas is individually backlit and once the light is turned on, a brand new image is revealed. The melding of the two images through the art of backlighting is such an ingenius idea on Sophie's part, and the illustrations really come to life once lit.
When asked about her artwork, Sophie has this to say: "I strive to create disorder in the viewer never saying things in a straightforward manner but rather leaving room for ambiguity and poetry that may leak out."
