Melek Zeynep Bulut is a Turkish-born designer now based in London and she has designed the Duo installation. This is a large-scale artwork which is in the Old Royal Naval College in London's Greenwich area. It is currently on display and will be showcased until November 3rd. The installation is comprised of hanging features that come together to form a rectangular structure with an archway through it.
Bulut shares, "Essentially, Duo is a portal. All my works are portals, offering spaces for dimensional transition and equilibrium [...] Imagine it like our body—fundamentally not a solid mass, but a sensor. It perceives and responds to stimuli by producing sounds and has sensory receptors that allow us to feel textures, heat, and cold. Similarly, Duo conceptually treats space as a mechanical body.”
