These Sonny Cheeva illustrations deliver a one-two punch in the hilarity department as viewers look at Muhammad Ali’s ludicrous incarnations in these parody pictures. Yes, that is indeed Muhammad Ali, even though he may appear dressed in an Adam West-era Batman suit or rocking a maraca in an effeminate fruit-inspired get-up.
Sonny Cheeva’s personal Flickr page also features other unique illustrated creations, but I still can’t bring myself to deviate from these laugh-inducing pictures. My favorite of the bunch is Muhammad Ali as Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Cheeva even erased Ali’s nose to make him more turtle-esque.
Implications - Consumers are attracted to parody materials because they nourish consumer desire for humorous content, which they use to alleviate various stresses. Corporations may consider using parody materials in media campaigns as a way to reach new audiences and potential customers.
