Contemporary Sweedish streetwear label Axel Arigato has introduced an upside-down sneaker pop-up in the Selfridges department store in London. The retail space features "all of the typical, run-of-the-mill materials and fixtures that you would expect to find in an office," however, the design team behind this project created the illusion that all of the ceiling tiles, strip lighting, and footwear displays were upside-down.
Thie upside-down sneaker pop-up is a new foray into branding design for Axel Arigato which is usually associated with "stone displays and pared-back color palettes." The sneakers featured in this creative retail environment, located on the first-floor menswear department in Selfridges, are all silhouettes from the latest season, as well as some carry-over pieces. The upside-down retail installation will be in this location for 12 months.
