The new Vans West End location has just opened its doors in London with a captivating design concept led by its skateable architecture. The unique approach elevates the realm of retail as the skate roots of the brand is translated through the fully functional design. It is a practical space to host events, showcase new products, and skate with the integrated ramp.
The community-centric location celebrates cultures and what Vans stands for music, art, and skateboarding. Andrea Caputo Studio designs the space and the aforementioned skate ramp is fully transformable for a versatile environment. Made from travertine stone, the ramp runs across the entire store without disrupting the merchandise space. It appears to be a single large block of stone and will be the main focus of the retail space -- using it for skate lessons, demos, and events by the skate team.
