Slane Irish Whiskey has announced the launch of its Slane Special Edition whiskey, a premium expression that builds on the label's first triple-cask blend, which was released five years ago. According to the company, the new limited-edition offering has been created to celebrate Slane's 40-year history, particularly the brand's ongoing connection with rock music.
Slane Special Edition is said to "amp up the flavor" found in the brand's original triple-cask by aging the liquid in a blend of seasonal barrels, extra virgin oak casks, and Spanish sherry casks. As a result, the new spirit is said to deliver a sophisticated flavor profile consisting of toasted oak and vanilla on the nose with warm and spicy notes to finish.
"Since that first gig in 1981, Slane has hosted many remarkable artists, but it’s always been the spirit of the fans that makes it special. To mark 40 years of Slane concerts, we created a whiskey where we turned the volume up a notch to give a fuller flavor experience," said Slane Irish Whiskey Co-Founder Alex Conyngham.
