Last May, we wrote about the E-Fuel's innovative Efuel100 Micro Fueler, which turns alcohol into ethanol. Southern California brewery Sierra Nevada has announced a partnership with E-Fuel to turn their beer waste into ethanol using the Efuel100 Micro Fueler.
The ethanol will primarily be used to power the on-site vehicles at Sierra Nevada, but it's possible that the ethanol would be made available for employees or the general public.
Sierra Nevada has already done quite a bit for the environment. According to Tree Hugger, Sierra Nevada sells 1.6 million gallons of beer waste to farmers annually to use as dairy feed.

Trend Themes
1. Eco-friendly Brewing - The partnership between Sierra Nevada and E-Fuel can inspire breweries to invest in technology that converts brewery byproducts to fuel.
2. Sustainable Energy Production - The Efuel100 Micro Fueler creates an opportunity for companies to repurpose their waste materials for energy production, reducing their carbon footprint.
3. Circular Economy Solutions - The use of brewery waste to produce ethanol demonstrates the ability to create a closed-loop system that uses waste as a resource, inspiring other industries to look for similar solutions.
Industry Implications
1. Brewing - The brewing industry can leverage similar technology as E-Fuel's Efuel100 Micro Fueler to reduce its environmental impact and repurpose brewery byproducts for sustainable fuel production.
2. Agriculture - The use of Sierra Nevada's beer waste as dairy feed can inspire other companies to find similar uses for their waste materials in agriculture and reduce waste sent to landfills.
3. Renewable Energy - The conversion of brewery waste to ethanol for fuel production signals an opportunity for the renewable energy industry to explore the potential for other waste-to-energy solutions.
