LA-based design studio Jialun Xiong is the creative mind behind the new Sichuan Impression restaurant location with strong influences from traditional Chinese architecture. It is located in Alhambra and takes on a modern angle of the concept with relaxed interiors of warm soft tones paired together with walnut furniture and contrasted with metal accents.
Xiong explains, "For Sichuan Impression, I chose a muted palette and natural materials to encourage guests to look a little longer and see the intricacies and textures that aren't so obvious at first glance. [...]The secluded space is designed to feel like home with its bespoke circular dining table and ambient lighting. I believe good design doesn't always have to be instantly recognizable, it can simply blend in."
