While social media platforms like YouTube and Vine have made it incredibly easy for people to share video content with one another online, it has been a challenge to share audio clips in the same way. This was a problem that was recognized and remedied by This American Life.
As a producer of free weekly podcasts, This American Life took it upon themselves to create 'Shortcut,' an app that allows people to turn favorite podcast moments into videos that can be shared across social media. As Shortcut's creators describe, "It's kind of like making a GIF, but for audio."
