SERRV Alleviates Poverty by Supporting Artisans from Around the World
Tiana Reid — February 8, 2012 — Social Good
SERRV is an shopping site that carves out a convenient way to shop for fair trade handicrafts from around the world. Its mission is poverty alleviation through supporting small-scale artisans and farmers. The online retailer, which sells a breadth of products including home decor, food, kitchen accessories, gifts, outdoor goods, jewelry and clothing, even got a nod from HelloGiggles, the female-oriented website created by Zooey Deschanel, producer Sophia Rossi and writer Molly McAleer, in a post called 'Shop for a Cause.'
"SERRV made history; becoming one of very few organizations who served more than five decades for the artisans and producers around the world," said director of SERRV's partner, Nepal's Mahaguthi, Sunil Chitrakar. "It started as an idealistic dream to help the poor and turned into Fair Trade."
