New York City-based architecture firm Arnold Studio has been tasked with developing the aesthetic for this sensory deprivation spa, located in the Greenpoint neighborhood in Brooklyn.
Arnold Studio was cohesive in its approach to creating the visual experience of Vessel Floats. There is a total of six walk-in isolation tanks—the sensory deprivation spa warrants the complete cut off of all external stimuli through the submergence in 93.5-degree Fahrenheit salted water. In addition, Arnold Studio introduced relaxation spaces in the form of pre- and post-float lounges. The design of Vessel Floats is intended to be a seamless "transition between environments" and as a result, things like "illumination, colors, and sounds change as patrons traverse through the space."
