The 'Selfless Portraits' are a unique social media experiment and art project which could only be possible in today’s social media obsessed world. The project encourages people from all around the world to draw strangers' Facebook profile pictures and post them in their website’s gallery.
To take part in the project you must upload your profile picture to the site. In order to receive the finished portrait you must complete and upload a drawing you have created of a stranger’s assigned profile picture. According to the project website, the organizers of the collaborative art project say they aim to “bridge the gap between technology and humanity by encouraging small, creative gestures between strangers across the globe.”
This is a socially beneficial idea for young people growing up with technology and social media to get involved in.
