All Model S and X Vehicles in Production Will Be Self-Driving Teslas
Laura McQuarrie — October 21, 2016 — Autos
Thanks to a recent hardware update from the team at Tesla, all vehicles in production—
including the Model S, X and 3—are now equipped with the technology to be self-driving Tesla vehicles.
Some of the impressive systems that will be integrated to eliminate the need for human drivers include multiple cameras to provide 360 degrees of visibility around the car, as well as sensors to complement what these cameras are able to see. Tesla also describes that there is a radar that provides information about everything from environmental conditions such as rain, fog and dust to cars ahead of the Tesla vehicle on the road.
As well as having an entire fleet of electric cars, Tesla is stationing itself at the forefront of automotive innovation, particularly when it comes to safety and sustainability.
