Seed of Love is a good name for these backpacks by Ross Lovegrove. These beautiful sculptures, recently shown at the Tokyo Fiber 09 SENSEWARE exhibition in September, are made of triaxial woven fabric to create an ultra-light organic shape.
Unlike conventional textiles, triaxial woven fabric (T.W.F. fabric and MELSET are registered trademarks) employs three threads intersecting each other at 60 degrees in a reticulated arrangement, that gives opportunities to create structures ideal for dynamic surface changes in three dimensions.
