From Eco-Chic to Post-Modern Sleek

Ross Lovegrove is a Welsh industrial designer with a penchant for smooth curves, forward-thinking concepts and organic-inspired design.
An alumni of Manchester Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art, Lovegrove is well-versed in his craft. Since completing his masters studies in the early 80s, he has gone on to work on projects for such clients as Apple and Sony. He has also consulted for Hermes, Dupont and Louis Vuitton. His professional pedigree aside, Lovegrove's designs have an original and modern flair.
Always inspired by the flowing, curvy forms of nature, much of Lovegrove's work takes on a sharply futurist aesthetic. Still, the designer doesn't let sleekness give way to the severity that so many post-modernist pieces fall prey to. In keeping with his progressive aesthetic, many of Ross Lovegrove's pieces are also exemplars of eco-friendly design.
