The $10,000 'How High the Moon' Nickel Plated Chair
Alex Covert — April 15, 2008 — Art & Design
What chair? Oh! That thing UNDER the model. I kind of see it and now that you mention it, I think NOT seeing it is kind of the point. Designed back in the 1980s, this expanded nickel-plated steel mesh chair was recently made by the German-based company, Vitra. The chair goes for $9975 USD and even has a "mini me" version that sells for $450!
Implications - The chair may have been designed almost 20 years ago, but the featured updated version of it looks just as awesome as the original. Browsing the pictures featured in the gallery, you may wonder if the chair is actually comfortable. With such a hefty price tag, it must be!
