Black Scars Cabinet is Etched Entirely with Slashes Over Its Surface

Quite different to the typical engraved detailing that you might find on wooden furnishings, this scratched furniture features a pattern of violent-looking abrasions that cover the entire surface of the solid oak wood. The oxygenated material has been finished with an ashen black coating, making the Black Scars Cabinet look completely charred by fire and abuse.
Alon Dodo has made other scratched furnishings in a similar manner, setting his designs apart from the often smooth or more traditionally ornamental techniques and motifs out there. Interestingly, even the discernible grooves that hatch the sideboard doors with inconsistent markings, the Black Scars Cabinet exudes an overall muted aesthetic that would make it complementary to an otherwise minimalist decorative scheme.
