New Jersey-based designer Brecht Wright Danger introduces its new Knowledge of All Dark Things collection. It is a series of furniture pieces made from wood -- each one is designed with a drippy and organic structure carved by hand from curly maple. The designs are inspired by a 16th-century alphabet that is known to communicate with angels -- the 'angelic script.'
It was shown during Design Miami for the first time in the later part of last year, presented by Room 57 gallery. Gander took on an intuitive approach when it comes to carving and creating forms through the wooden foundation. He states, “I start carving away at what are initially large blocky assemblages of wood — and then I start to see where the form wants to go.”
