Designer Patricia Urquiola is following up her engaging and mesmerizing optical illusion carpets with a collection of irregular rug shapes. The new offering has been dubbed 'Mirage' and was made in collaboration with textile brand GAN. Once again, Patricia Urquiola was inspired by the Op Art movement in the creation of these bold and somewhat puzzling designs.
Each of the bizarre rug shapes is hand-knotted and created from pure New Zealand wool. Mirage is a testimony to modernity. The sophisticated geometry, combined with the subtle colorful gradients, fosters a three-dimensional effect that relates a strong dynamic between shape, form and overall aesthetic.
The items in the Mirage collection are offered in three colors — blue, nude and orange, and are ideal as an accent to the living room or even as a wall-hanging piece.
