Roots and OVO Join Forces to Revive The Jamaican Bobsled Jacket

Roots and OVO join forces once again to re-launch a previous collaborative project of theirs. The duo released the Calgary Varsity Jacket again to commemorate Bob Marley Day. It was originally dropped during the fall season of last year to celebrate the 30th anniversary since the 1988 Calgary Olympics. The Canadian brands showcase national pride with this project, featuring cultural patchwork accents throughout the jacket.

It was designed specifically for the Jamaican Bobsled Team of 1988, so there are also cultural cues to Jamaican culture as well. It is mainly translated through the selection of color, highlighting black, yellow, and green, with hints of red as well. The patchwork prominently spotlights the Jamaican Bobsled Team and the 1988 Olympics. The collaborative Calgary Varsity jacket is set for a limited launch on February 6th, exclusively at three different retail locations -- Calgary's Chinook store and Toronto's Eaton Center and Bloor Street stores.
