These Romain Laurent Pictures Will Have You Tilting Your Head

Romain Laurent is fast becoming one of my favorite photographers and you can see why with these gravity-defying photos.
Maybe this isn't the first place we've seen this trick done -- obviously Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" video featured the same iconic leaning dance move -- but seeing ordinary urbanites pull off this spiffy trick is truly a surreal experience. My best approximation of how these photos were made is that Romain Laurent asked his models to fall down while he snapped pictures of them. Laurent magnifies the idiosyncrasy of the photos even more so by keeping his subjects in relatively upright positions while skewing instead the environments they're in.
My favorite of these Romain Laurent photos has got to be the man drinking coffee nonchalantly while it looks like he's seconds away from faceplanting the ground.
