Rogerio Oliveira Designs a Font Shaped like Pint Glasses
References: behance.net & designtaxi
Brazilian graphic designer and illustrator Rogerio Oliveira takes inspiration from drinking pints of beer at a local pub with his latest typeface called, Beer Type.
As soon as you look at the Beer Type font, it's easy to see where Oliveira incorporated the various beer-related glassware into the aesthetic look of his typeface. Oliveira began his designs by replicating the shape of popular pint glasses like the Guinness, Hoegarden, Chimay and Pilsner Urquell. These shapes were then infused directly into the typeface. The shape of the glasses can be seen in the gaps of the letters. For example, the M three triangular cut-outs are replaced with beer bottles and the curve of the J wraps around an empty wine glass. The Beer Type would be the perfect font for eateries to use on their drink menus.
