Every so often a technological advancement so unique comes along to remind consumers that the future isn't as far away as one might think, and this rings true with a new innovation from the researchers at the University of California San Diego, who are developing robotic contact lenses.
As the name suggests, these robotic lenses leverage 'soft robotics,' which can work in tandem with a human being. The reason robotics is being used in these lenses, is to offer enhanced sight by featuring the ability to zoom. Although it's still in the development phase, it's expected that these lenses will be able to zoom following a human command, such as blinking twice.
