The Rick Owens Gold Faces Glistened Down the Mayan-Inspired Runway

The Rick Owens gold face masks added a hint of Mayan flair during the Fall/ Winter 2015 collection fashion show. Rick Owens, the Creative Director of the brand, got in touch with his Mexican roots this season. He used Mayan architecture as his main source of inspiration for the season. These incredible Mayan gold face masks were brought to life as the models sported gold and silver foiled faces at the Rick Owens AW15 show. Owens' collection featured a slew of special effects, most notably the foiled facemasks.
The luxurious Mayan culture bled throughout the collection, however, the foiled facemasks completely played off of the Mayan gold rush. The makeup artists applied heavily flaked foil to each model's face, making some parts of the metallic foil look smooth and others scale-like. This application gave depth to the collection and its beauty aspect.
