Richemont has debuted a new digital platform called Enquirus to help fight watch and jewelry-related crime. With Enquirus, an accessory's brand and serial numbers can be used to register the item or collection and create a user account. When all relevant papers have been transferred to the digital vault, chances of recovery are increased when stolen or lost items are reported.
The database may be used to examine watches and jewelry being sold as used items, allowing clients to ensure they are not stolen before making a purchase. This helps reunite lost pieces with their owners and also prevents theft or fraud.
“Our goal is to bring onboard as many industry players as possible, as well as the police departments of all the major cities in the world, to make Enquirus the largest international database of lost and stolen watches and jewelry," said Frank Vivier, chief transformation officer at Richemont.
