Richard Jackson: Collected Works is showing at the Rennie Collection in Vancouver. It is the artist's first North American solo show since 1988 and one of its central pieces is 'Pump Pee Doo.'
Playing on the name of the Pompidou Art Center in Paris (the original location for the piece), Pump Pee Doo from the Richard Jackson: Collected Works exhibit alludes to one of the most famous works housed at the Pompidou--Marcel Duchamp's 'Fountain.' Pump Pee Doo shows lifesize rainbow-colored bears spray-painting various hues into multi-colored urinals.
