In a collaborative effort between artist Luke Jerram and the Bristol charity '1625 Independent People,' this sculpture was erected to represent the homeless community. The sculpture itself is a ghostly figure that looks like a white glowing sheet and is covering a body that lays in the middle of the street.
The sculpture is an experiment that aims to document whether or not people will acknowledge it. It was also part of 1625 Independent People's new 'Early Doors' campaign which raises money for homeless youth in Bristol.
The idea for this project was to represent the homeless community -- especially during the holiday season. Artist Luke Jerram says that he hopes "the artwork will raise awareness about homelessness and that the public will feel moved to support this cause."
