The Red Wing Made the Hard Way Goes Against Sneaker Drops

— December 12, 2025 — Marketing
The Red Wing Made the Hard Way campaign is being launched by the footwear brand as a way to dig in deeper into its heritage and take things in a different direction within the shoe industry. The campaign includes a series of billboards throughout Minneapolis that have been constructed out of scrap leather rather than virgin materials that achieve a tactile surface unlike what's traditionally seen. The billboards have also been created in collaboration with local carpenter who utilized lumber to further elevate the appearance of the rustic fixtures.

The Red Wing Made the Hard Way campaign comes as part of the brand's commitment to embracing its more than 120 year heritage rather than getting wrapped up in the world of ongoing sneaker and shoe drops.
