'Total Drama Island' Is About Teen 'Survivors' Who Get Voted Off Weekly
Total Drama Island is a unreality show - a reality show that comes in the form of a very funny cartoon. Since it’s animated, it is clearly not a reality show, but honest to God, after watching it for a while, you totally forget that aspect of it.
While this has been a number one show in the US and Canada, Total Drama Island is new to the UK (and me) so I really wanted to post about it.
Essentially the show pits 22 teens against each other in a Survivor-style contest. As with any reality show, each week the contestants are tested by the most grueling, intense and just plain gross challenges. One teen per week is eliminated and forced to walk the dreaded Dock of Shame. One, and only one, will win the ultimate prize.
It is also really funny, Simpson’s kind of funny, and has some great moments that draw from the best, and worst, of the raft of reality shows out there. Makes you see how unreal they all are.
